Shelter In Place Issued by The Mayor For Wichita Falls

With the rise of cases of Covid-19 our city has issued a "Shelter-In-Place" ordinance on March 27th.  (Sorry posts are a little out of order, everything a little crazy)  Only essential business may remain open and you may only leave for essential needs/essential work.

When we ventured out to get our online grocery order there was very very little traffic.  This was aprox 5pm on Saturday on one of the busiest roads in the city.   People are taking it furry seriously.

I worried my self the whole way there we would get caught even though momma said getting groceries was on the list of essential travel.

Stray Chicken & It Didn't Cross The Road

It all began one Saturday afternoon when we were visiting Doggy Nanny and Aunt Gracie.  I was just watching out the big living room window.  Nothing suspicious was noted until......

.....Alert Alert....bork bork bork....Alert Alert!

Unknown strange SUSPICIOUS creature across the road.

Upon closer inspection it was a chicken. Now what on earth is a chicken doing in the middle of the city.  I suppose it possibly could be from the same farm as the rogue sheep but still its awful suspicious!!!!

We remained on high alert as the chicken seemed to be content staying right in Sammys front yard just pecking at the ground without a care in the world.

After about an hour it seems my partner fell asleep on the job.  Tsk Tsk.

In good news, no other suspicious activity was observed during our watch.

It's Corona Time - Panic Buying

Late last week I found that we was running out of a lot of the doggie supplies.  Kibble, bacon treats, training treats and bully sticks.  No big deal.

I added 'em all to mommas shopping list.  Then disaster struck.  The 1st walmart grocery order stated beggin strips were out of stock and we could only get a limited quantity of training treats.  Strange!  So we tried the other walmart in town....out of stock on both.  What!  With the local stores out we ordered online at Petco and would you seriously believe they were listed as back ordered!  OH MY DOG!

Next we pulled up the Target app.  They showed Beggin strips in stock so we placed a mobile order and waited to see if they were in fact in stock.  Finally we got the confirmation email that they were in stock!!!!!  Our order was processed and ready to be picked up.  Oh JOY! And a 3rd and final order from Walmart Grocery Pick up we were able to pick up the last items we needed.

As you may have heard there is some sort of hooman disease going around called Corona Virus or Covid-19.  Quarantines are being imposed, schools are closed, business are closing/limiting hours, restaurants are going to drive-thru only and the world is in a state of panic.   People are stripping the shelves of all supplies.  First was toilet paper, hand sanatizer and disinfecting wipes.  However it is now everything in the stores such as baby supplies, dog supplies, meats and nonperishable are being wiped out in record numbers.   Grocery stores are imposing quantity limits on literally everything.  So it has been furry difficult to just get basic supplies.  We hope the spread of this virus can be stopped soon and life will return to normal.

Thankfully after a few stressful days we were able to get stocked up on our essentials.  This should keep us fed for a few weeks.

Alright lets dig in!

Stay safe out there in these uncertain times!

Pee Ess: As we were collecting supplies I may have let the stress get to me and may have panic eaten most of the greenies in one sitting while momma was at work.  Oops!

Story Time: Ran Off On the Maintenance Man and Work Updates

Story Time!  The maintenance man has been stopping by to do work on the ceiling.  Well one day I gave him the slip.  I was ready and waiting by the door when he stopped by.  I wanted to go on an adventure.  I made it all the way to the parking lot before he caught up to me and started saying "get back inside".   I didn't like him chasing me so I ran back inside wif Lucy.  I would have gotten away wif it too if he hadn't tattled on me.  Hrmph!  I got a big finger waggin for that.

In other maintenance man related news (week of the 18-19-20th) work is coming along just fine.  He got the old paint off, refinished it.  Now all that is left is to texture and paint

Fun fact he told me that most female dog at our complex are named Lucy.  How cool is that?!!??!??  We should do some sort of Lucy Meet Up! As of 5pm Friday the 20th work was completed, we got our kitchen back and reorganized!!!

Feels good to have things back to normal again!

Fire At Margot's Grooming

Over the weekend we were devastated to learn about a fire at Margot's Grooming shop via their facebook page.

We are crossing our paws that no one was hurt and Mrs Pat is able to rebuild/relocate!  We love Margots grooming and the entire staff!  They have taken such wonderful care of me over the years!

New LWLNP Art Work by Anna Gkoutzouri

We found the artist Anna Gkoutzouri (@annagkoutzouri) via the PBJ Pack (@PBJ_Pack).  They posted a piece of her artwork featuring Jax in a story book.  We reached out to her to do a custom piece of us for our Instagram profile picture.  She agreed and asked we make a donation to Rusty's Angel Sanctuary (http://www.rustysangelssanctuary.org/) for the piece.  They are a rescue group that takes in pets whos owners have gone into a nursing home or passed away.  If the pet is healthy enough to be adopted they will go to a furever home and if not they stay at the sanctuary where they are unconditionally loved until the end of their days.  What an amazing place!  Thank you Anna for telling about this place.  A donation has been made.

Now without further ado.....

Anna you did an amazing job we totally LOVE it!  Thank you ever so much!!!!!

Rainy Days

Well spring done played a trick on me.  This past weekend (and most of this whole week) the temps dropped back to the 50's and has raining off and on.  I had to pull out my fleece hoodie to go to the grocery pick up.  This weather is simply cray cray!!!

Tagless ID Collar

After my recent adventure momma is requiring me to wear id at all times as part of my probation.  But she hated seeing me wearing my tags during the work week when I stay home.  I have no fur to be a barrier between them and my delicate skin.  We searched amazon and came across a listing by Hot Dog Collars.  They offer Yellow Dog Design collars that feature your info printed directly on the collar.  We put my name, momma's phone number and a "chipped" logo on it.  Its 3/8 inch wide and has no ruff edges or pokie points.  This way I have id on me in the event I loose my mind again and run away.

What Happens When I Get My Benedryl At Night

I sit upon her pillow and stick my tongue out as it tastes just horrible!

Then I give momma side eye to show my displeasure.

ps we found the trees out front are blooming so this is likely why my allergies have been so bad lately.

It looks like it had been snowing.  It would be pretty if it didn't make my face all puffy.

Suspicious Activity At Whatabuger

We went to Whataburger for brekkie one fine Saturday morning.  We love a toquito!

As we were in the drive thru line I spotted suspicious activity. It was an employee with a mop and bucket.  Mopping the drive thru lane.

I made sure to keep an eye on them.  Furry suspicious.

Anyhoo lets dig into these toquitos!

Snoopervising is Hard Work

Well this happened.  Our kitchen was completely emptied by the maintenance man.

Seems we have some old paint repairs that had to be made and the work would be more extensive than originally thought it to be so everything literally had to go!  The maintenance man told momma that we sat at the doorway of the kitchen and watched him all day long.  He also said we were no trouble.  Not even Poppy.  *Slips maintenance man a milk bone for this report*

And its truly furry tiring snoopervising for 8 hours a day.

So we hit the hay early and are out within minutes.  zzzZZZzzzZZzZZZZZ
