Thanksgiving 2020

Doggy Nanny decided to honor our Texas Tradition and we ordered Cracker Barrel for Thanksgiving.

I inspected the meals to ensure we had enough foods.

Oh boy does it smell WONDERFUL!

Once we arrived back to DN's house Lucy found an open chair and took the spot.

She was quickly evicted by Grandpa but managed to another open chair.

However moments later its occupent returned.

.He held and pet her for a while but once the food was served she was dumped...I mean gently place onto the floor.

She found this comfortable Cracker Barrel bag to sploot upon.

We all went around and said what we were thankful for.  Momma and Mr Cody were thankful for great jobs and family.  Aunt Net was thankful to be retired.  Doggy Nanny and Grandpa were thankful for family.  And really thats why we moved back to be near family.

Then the hoomas talked and talked and talked....

...which put me right to sleep.

Lucy found a better place to sploot.

Then Uncle Teddy got in Aunt Nets Lap and started giving everyone sad eyes in hopes of getting some nums.

I will give it to Teddums he does got the saddest eyes in Texas!

Post feast we went outside to enjoy the cool weather and check for squirrels.

No squirrels, no stray pups, no horses.

We went back inside and Lucy plum fell over from exhaustion.

Then something happened.  I walked up to Mr Cody and let him pet me.

I have never felt the urge to have someone other than momma or Doggy Nanny pet me before.  Momma was so proud and told me I was a good girl.  I then walked across Mr Cody's lap over to momma to celebrate.  #blessed

All too soon it was time to pack up and head back to the apartment.

I must say it was a wonderful day!  Thanks Doggy Nanny and Grandpa for hosing everyone and Thank you Mr Cody for the meal!

Neighbor Things

The other evening I went out on the porch to find this.  Its a SMOKER!  Like to smoke meats.  OOH!  Yum!

There have been quite a few odd things happening.

New people, new children, odd items left on the porch, random foods left out.

But the most important thing is I know for a fact they have a new puppy.  I can smell it and hear it just havent been able to see it yet.  One day I hope we can meet one another.

Ooh momma put down a fresh sheet in the carseat.

Lets DESTROY it!!!!!!!!

Hang on Poppy I'm coming under too!

*GrrRRr* *Bork* *WOOOOFF* *random car engine noise*

Back to business now.  We are awaiting chicky nuggies at Chiky-fil-a.  That kinda looks like our order.....

OOH!  It is!  Commence wiggles, borks and lizard tongue.

After we got home, had our supper it was nap time.

Upon closer inspection momma found my tongue sticking out and snapped a picture.

I was so dead asleep she even lifted me lip and got a full picture of my tongue stuck in my toofers.

Spotlight Wichita Falls - Local Artist Jack Stevens

Todays Spotlight is honoring a local artist by the name of Jack Stevens.

When we began looking into the art that is adorning our city we came across the name Jack Stevens often.  His art includes the Wee Chi Ta statue, the bicyclists at MSU and the beautiful mustangs at MSU.   Stevens opened his studio in the 70's and began making creating the amazing works of art for Texhoma.  He learned about bronze (which he is most famous for) as a medium for art work after visiting a museum in Fort Worth Texas.  Once he had the tools and molds he began working full time from his home in Iowa Park.  In all Stevens has 9 larger than life bronze statues in Wichita County.  Spanning from Wichita Falls, Iowa Park and Burkburnett.  To view his website visit jackstevensgallery.com

Little Girl @ Bridwell Park

2017 Jack Stevens decided to put away his tools and retire.  As we were researching and photographing we were saddened to hear that only just a little over a year ago (May 2019)  he passed away.  He is a truly talented man and we can't be thankful enough he has decorated the wonderful city we call home.
