Flip The Lip and Check Those Chompers - Lucy Edition

Lets talk teefs!

In a former life momma was a vet assistant.  She learned a lot about canine health, including dental health.  Most dogs by the age of 3 have some degree of periodontal disease.

Its important to keep a check on your pets teeth and well momma did just that this week.

Right canine quite a bit of build up.

Left canine pretty discoloration as well.  No bueno!

Left molers, very discolored. :(

Right Moler not as bad.

Oh goodness Momma and her antics are exhausting!

So with that momma booked me an appointment wif the Dogtor to get a toofer cleaning.  Not sure how I feel bouts that.  I mean I really wanna see the peoples and get to hang out wif them but I don't want em messin wif my chompers!

Spotlight Wichita Falls - Hotter'n Hell Hundred

Today's spotlight is on the largest cycling event in the nation held right here in Wichita Falls.  More than 13,000 riders from across the world descend on our little city in late August for 4  days of cycling activities.

                                            THE CENTENNIAL RIDE FROM HELL
Hotter’N Hell Hundred grew out of efforts to find a special way for Wichita Falls to celebrate its 1982 centennial. The Wichita Falls Bicycle Club proposed a bicycle ride – 100 miles in 100 degree heat to celebrate 100 years, coining the name: Hotter’N Hell Hundred. The rest is Hotter’N Hell History.*

HHH art around the city.  First up is the HHH HQ.  Located on Scott St.  This beautiful city scape on the north side of the building.

On the south side we have a mural of a few HHH riders.

The artist of both of these murals is Ralph Stearns and was designed by Steve Grey.

Down town we have themed bike racks.  Each one is adorned the supporting organizations logo cut out of the wheel of the sculpture. This one features an oil rig.  These unique works of art supporting the HHH began in 2018 and more are added every year.

Due to covid-19 this year (2020) the HHH is being held virtually.  Hopefully next year we will be able to see all the cyclists back in our city and putting the pedal to the metal.

Riding Through The Car Wash

Car wash time!  With every oil change we get a free car wash ticket.  The MM truly was in great need of a wash.

As we approached I hopped up on the dash to greet the attendant but was met with a sprayer.  I was heckin' bamboozled.  I thought for sure I was going to get wet.  Thankfully the windshield saved me.

Time for the HOT BATH!

EEK!  I best get down!

DUCK!

That was a close one!

Now its the side swipers.  I will watch front you watch the back Pop Pop.

AAAH!  A second side swiper!

Heckin SCARY!

Rinse cycle!

I see the end of the tunnel....Let there be light!

Oh No!  I forgot about the mega blow dryers!

Look away Poppy this is much to scary for you!

Whatever you say Lucy.

Once out of the tunnel some shady looking people came to towel dry the MM.  I gave 'em heck about it.  Till momma pulled me back.  How embarrassing!

Sorry frens, she gets a little crazy some times.

Whew that did me in.  I am sure tired.

Time for an Oil Change Again

It has been 4 months and 3k miles.  That means its time for an oil change.  We visited our favorite place.

Basic oil change please and thank you kind sir.

Everyone including the manager came out to see me.  I was so bouncy and happy they all left with big smiles on their faces.  My work here is done.

Back to business Poppy was ensuring everything was done to code.

WOW!  They are so quick!

Fine job boys!  Thanks

Yes a fine job indeed.  Although sticking your arm in the car to put stickers on the windshield was kinda suspicious!  Just sayin!!!!

Yippee another errand done and off the to do list.  Be sure to come back tomorrow for our trip through the carwash.  It got WILD!

I'm Not A Morning Person

Lucy pops out of bed every morning bright eyed and bushy tailed.  Shes ready to start the day, ready to play, ready to do stuff.  I do not.

So when she got her beef chew chew and decided to hide it in the kitchen bed.....

...and would not stop trying to bury it....

I hopped out of bed...

...made some grumbly noises...

...took matters into my own paws.

I kicked her outta the bed and took the chew chew.  Its mine now.
