Trick Training Time - #ChewyInfluencer - Wellness Core Petite Treats Lamb, Apple and Cinnamon Recipe Review

I was so excited when our chewy.com order arrived and I found a bag of Wellness Core Petite Treats Lamb treats inside.  I am ready for new challenges and new noms.

Lets take a quick look at these treats before we get down to business.  They are sized just right for small breeds.  They are shaped like little flowers.  Way too cute!

We have the Lamb, Apple Cinnamon flavor combo.  Per the label they have flaxseed to promote a healthy shiny coat.  Hmm...May have to give my sis-fur some to test that part.  They are made with premium all natural ingredients, they have fiber and probiotics to help enhance digestion.  Wow all that packed into a tiny treat?!?!?!  Thats AMAZING!

Alright time to get down to business.

Sniff Test

Taste Test.  My findings...quite scrumptious!

We found doing a hand boop led to kisses so Lucy lent me her target stick and problem solved.  I wasn't temped to kiss it like I am momma.

BOOP!

We studied the AKC evaluators guide to find a new trick for me to try and I it call Poppy in a Box.

Almost there.

I gots this!  Easy Peasy!

Alright time to pack up and head to class to show my trainer what I have accomplished.

Bye!

***Short intermission***
In addition to using these at home to practice I took these to a couple training classes and they were easy to grab for rewards, quick to eat, and kept me motivated.  :)

In conclusion if your a small to medium size pupperino looking for a new treat for training time and enjoy de-puppin-licious things, give these a try.  Be sure to check out Chewy.com for all the fantastic flavor combinations from Wellness.

I Dug Through a Strangers Purse...And Found...

Yep, you read this right.  We had a furry nice lady over to the apartment because momma was selling items on FB's Marketplace.

Well she set her purse down so she could pet both of us and when she was talking to momma bouts Poppy I sneekded over to her purse and did a preliminary check of its contents and you'll never guess what I found.  She had chicken treats!  And the best part she shared some wif me and Poppy.  Here is a *DRAMATIC* re-enactment wif mommas purse of what went down.

Momma says with a sniffer like mine I will excel in the Scent Work Class we are taking in the spring time.

Reduced Calorie Food? - #CHEWYINFLUENCER - Natural Balance Reduced Calorie Chicken, Salmon and Duck Canned Food Review

Janruary, its the month of resolutions, life style changes, diets, and training classes.  The latter is for us anyway.  Mine start in March and Poppys has already begun.  And to keep our lady like figures while our treat intake was going up we decided to try out Natural Balance's Reduced calorie food.

As you can see from the back of the label this food has multiple protein sources to provide a high quality reduced calorie formula.  It has added vitamins to support a healthy immune system.  It is also gluten free and has Yucca Schidigera extract which aids your gastrointestinal system.  So your pawrents will have no wiggle room to say no to this food!

Alright lets dig into this and get to the taste test.

Bowled up it looks great mixed with kibbles.

Wow-wee!  It may say reduced calories but it sure is not reduced in taste.

I concur Lucy.

Its rather refreshing to have such a unique flavor combo.

Whether you are on a weight loss journey or want to cut back in order to get more treats at training time this would be a great canned food to add to your favorite kibble to make a meal.

Check out Chewy.com for all your can food needs.  They do have the selection of canned food we have found!

The PetSmart Training Academy - Week 2

Wednesday night I raided the closet to find the perfect outfit and chose my Flamingo tank.  I grabbed my Wellness Petite Treats for further research for an upcoming #chewyinfluencer post.  Then I threw in my target stick so I can show Miss Rachel I have been working on my tricks. I found its easier to use a target stick for boop training.  When momma puts her hand down I like to lick it, especially if shes been holding treats.  BOL!

Here is my official week 2 of training photo.

Week 2 of training class was good and not so good.  Which is not a bad thing, we use it as a learning experience.  First the good.  Between classes momma and I transitioned my Boop from her hand to a target stick.  I even was able to focus on momma and doing my trick when we arrived at the training area.  I was less afraid of Miss Rachel and accepted a treat from her hand and pats to my back from her.  She even mentioned that is ok to tell people that approach me  "I prefer pats on the back or hip rather than my head".  I didn't know that was an option.  Then that way momma can reward me wif a treat and a neck scritch.  Which I always enjoy.  I didn't bark when I saw peoples outside the training room during class.  When  I saw people at the apartments between classes (even if I did a small barkie) momma redirected me and we had celebrations when I focused on her and trotted along my merry way.  Thats alot funner than being tense and barking my fool head off anyhoo.  On to the less than good parts.  Miss Rachel brought her dog Cooper I got very barkie and scared poor Cooper to death.  He even went in his kennel and wouldn't come out for nothing even beef jerky.  I sorry cooper man.

Then there was a new doggie in class named Boomer the Aussie.  He is a super confident dog.  So when he came in I saw how confident he was and I got  barkie and he got barkie back.  When we were working on sitting nicely near each other he came close to sniff me and well it scared me so bad I got super speed barkies and snippy.  He didn't like my behavior and got snippy back.  Miss Rachel broke our focus and no one was hurt physically but after Miss Rachel used her loud barkies to break things up I hid under a stool for quite some time.  We tried to relocate to another part of the training area but I couldn't shake it off.  So we just stopped and momma held me.  We watched Boomer as he did his stuff and I was fine as long as he was over on his side.  As 6 approached the therapy class started trickling in and I saw Poppy the blonde chihuahua.  I reached down for a sniff and her momma brought her over for a sniff.  We both did fabulous!  I got treats and neck scritches.  Lucy the aussie came in and her and Boomer had some barkies but I just gave a gentle sniff in their direction.  I stayed calm.  Lila the Labbie came in and was calm and walked in a heel wif her momma again I gave a sniff in their direction.  We were offered the opportunity to stay and observe again but momma felt we should go home and rest.

As Lucy and momma told me when I started this journey, #PracticeMakesProgress.  We are always learning and practicing to be good canine citizens.  Sometimes we don't always get along and we can use experiences like this to see where we can change our behavior to make similar situations in the future better.

A Puppy Play Date & Belated Birthday Wishes

Our furiend Douglas turned 10 years old this month.  Sadly on his birthday momma was sick and we couldn't go to his pawty.

However our mommy talked to his mommy and we set up a special play date.  We brought him a birthday gift, card and lots of kisses!

Douglas lives out in the country like we used to and there is such nice scenery to look at on the drive out.

As we turned on his road look what we found. It was a beautiful bovine.

Momma called out to him to look our way for a picture and he was so kind to pose.  I wonder if he has an instagram?

Bovine Blooper!

Upon arrival it was a wagging tails and kisses.

Oh Douglas you look snazzy in your sweater!

Momma didn't have the camera ready when I pulled some fun stunts.  There was a dining room chair pulled out just enough for me to jump on and well I just jumped right on the table.  BOL!  Then Miss Cindy came behind the chair and I tried to jump on the back of the dining room chair like I do the recliner.  Seems a dining room chair has a smaller back than the recliners I have at home and the chair tipped back a little causing momma to gasp.  What can I say I like to have fun!  Its called parkour momma!  think of how boring life would be without my stunts and stories!!!!  This was the chair in question.  I posed in it later.  See the smile on me face! #happypoodle

Soon after we arrived Miss Lisa, Rocker and Bella joined the pawty.

Rocker and Bella are Havanese.  They had the softest furs we ever did see and such pretty color patterns.

Miss Cindy said it was like Rocker had brush strokes of black paint on his white fur and I agree.

Poppy was a little nervous and had a growlie at Douglas when he first approached.

Momma told her no and then petted Douglas when he turned his head she sniffed his ear and all was good.  Good job sissy!

We were well fed while there.  We got some wet food, cookies and soft treats.

When we went out for Potty breaks we got to see Douglas' new sisfur her name is Daisy and she is a pit/boxer mix.  She is a beautiful girl but sadly she was abandon and furry scared.  And got even more frightened when my furless sissy barked at her.  (But no growlies from Poppy)  Sorry momma!

Still how rude Poppy! Momma didn't have her camera outside wif us to get a pic but I tried my furry best to make furiends.  I would play bow, wiggle my wee lil tail and then run off.  She didn't wanna play but maybe next time.  This is Poppy watching me and Daisy play when I went out wif Miss Cindy.

After while Poppy felt brave and got down on the floor, then outta no where she took off...racing from the living room, through dining room and into the room wif the pool table.  Of course I joined her then Douglas joined in to.  Here are the shots momma got.  They may be blurry but the blurry shots mean we were havin fun!

Me and Douglas needed a break.  Whew what a good game of chase.

There were lots of power naps to taken.

I needed a cooler place and hopped on the tile.  Ready to engage nap mode.

And achieved!

After a power nap me and Poppy got some bitey face time in.

Whats that noise?  Treat bag?

We all ran to the living room to eat the goods and Momma still cant believe it but she did manage to capture a photo with all 5 of us in it.

Miss Cindy got this one of Me, Rocker and Bella

One thing I have learned about Douglas and his pawrents is they are Dallas Cowboy fans.  How could you not be their logo is a star!  Well Poppy must be a cowboys fan too, the first toy she took from Douglas' basket was a cow boys football.

She proceeded to raid the toy box a few more times as did Rocker.

Speaking of foot ball Mr Donnie was watching the big foot ball game.  It wasn't the cowboys but it was exciting.  We helped him root for his team.  Miss Cindy caught these photos of us all on the couch together

When the game went to commercial Mr. Donnie got in the floor wif us.

And a game of tug of war broke out between the boys!

It got intense!  Rocker won!

While we played Poppy over heard the hoomans talking and there is rumors of more pawties in the near future, a trip to a cabin in da woods, and possibly a swim pawty (if it ever warms up of course).  EEK!  We're so happy out little hearts could burst!  Theres lots of FB pups that live near we havent even met yet who maybe joining in on those pawties.  Josie the Maltese, Faith the Shihtzu and Molly the therapy dog, just to name a few!

Before we left Miss Lisa, Bella and Rocker were so thoughtful and gifted us some hammy-downs.  There are sweaters, hoodies, and harnesses.  Miss Lisa that was so thoughtful!!!!  Thank You

And Miss Cindy gave us some goodie bags from Douglas' Pawty!  We snacked on these while pawing this post.  They are awesome!

As we pulled out of the driveway the sky put on quite a display and was stunning to see in the furs.  A perfect end to a fantastic day!

On the drive home Poppy fell asleep on me.

.02 seconds after arriving home we crashed and were not heard from again till the morning alarm went off for work.

Now that we have napped Douglas we want to wish you a HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  And send a THANK YOU to Miss Cindy for hosting the puppy play date!

Smooches,
Lucy & Poppy
