Peanut Butter Puzzle

When I was a wee little one, momma bought me a purple squirrel (kong type) toy.  She had been searching the interwebs to find good treats and combos to fill it with and came up with a treat, bone, peanut butter concoction.  When momma left it for me while she went to work I wasn't interested.  So I just left it alone.  Momma was sad she thought she found a great treat combo for me to make my kennel time less stressful.  So she returned my squirrel.  She just hid treats in the bedding for me to hunt and find.
A few months later momma thought she would try again and got me a SUMO she found at Walmart.  Again she got PB, treats and my bones and stuffed inside the red toy.  She put it in my playpen and headed off to work.  I sniffed it, ate a treat she pb'ed to the outside of the SUMO but left the rest.  Momma was simply puzzled.  The next day she left the PB out of my SUMO and just filled a few treats and lodged a bone in the end to keep them from falling out.  That night when she came home my SUMO was empty.  She finally figured out I don't like PB. I do however quite enjoy rolling the SUMO around and waiting for it to dispense treats.

PetStrong Dog Treat Pouch - Review by Katie the Momma

Today's review is of the PetStrong Dog Treat Pouch.  I purchased this off of Amazon here.  At the time of this post its showing out of stock but I paid 7.99 and got free shipping via the Amazon Prime Trial.

I searched the internet for a treat pouch with extra pockets and finally found the perfect one with the PetStrong Pouch.  The main section is large enough to carry a full Bil-Jac bag of treats if needed.  However in my case I carry my camera at the bottom and then a little ziplock stacked on top with the treats to guarantee freshness.  When treat pouch is not in use there is a very nice drawstring with push button locking device.  So nothing will fall out.  The main section is big enough to hold my 6 inch screen Android phone or Kodak z915 camera along with treats with no issues.  The interior of the pouch has a smooth nylon material to make clean out easy if you put treats directly inside this bag (not in a ziplock like I use).

The front has a large elastic pouch I use for a bike horn to "call" Lucy when we are out on the golf cart and she is off leash. It is big enough for a travel items such as a travel size hand sanitizer, clicker or small phone as well.   Behind the elastic pouch is a zippered pocket.  It is big enough for my credit cards/cash (when we go to class and I don't want to bring my wallet/purse).  In the back there is a small zippered pocket for poop bags and a handy little key hole for quick and easy access.  A life saver when your hands are full and accidents happen. *Cough* Lucy the check out lane is not the bathroom *Cough* :)

One big thing that made this bag perfect is the multitude of ways it can be worn.  It comes with a shoulder strap that attaches on each side of the bag. It can be worn over the shoulder, around the neck (like a camera), or as a cross body.  Each way is very convenient and I have worn it all ways for different reasons.  The little d-rings are also a large enough that when the shoulder strap is attached I have room to caribenier clip our CLIKR when not in use.  On the back there is a belt clip and 2 loops for use with the second strap to make it a traditional waist style treat pouch.

I give this item an A+ rating.  Its so versatile, has met and exceeded my needs/expectations.  I also like that its grey and black, making it very neutral.  It looks like just a small purse/fanny pack rather than a "Dog Treat Pouch". Here is a photo of my bag setup for everyday use.  If Going to class I take the bike horn out as Lucy is leashed.

Off The Beaten Path

So its been like 97 million degrees here in Western KY.  So walking on pavement has been off the table a few nights.  So we hop on the golf cart, find a field and go off the beaten path!

Tonight's adventure took us down a small dirt path to the soy bean field.

We found a trailer so we borrowed it to practice my sit/stay.  And for a quick photo, of course!!!

We have been walking later in the evenings 7:40-8:40 to hit the less warm parts of the day.  Being out so late we have run into a multitude of neighbors.  Momma says they are great "distractions" to practice with LLW.  So its a win-win.  I have been able to walk past almost everyone without breaking focus on my LLW.

I even passed Mr. Labrador without breaking stride.  I got a jackpot for that one!!!

Petsmart, Puppies and Puzzles! Oh YES!

So momma said she wanted to "test" my LLW (loose leash walking) in the public.  So after our evening walkie (and a quick chat wif the neighbor Mrs. Cindy) we were off we went to Petsmart on a mid-week trip.   As we hit the exit I got board waiting in traffic.  Patience is not a skill I have yet.  Momma so carelessly left some mail in my general vicinity and well......as I stated on Facebook, in my defense there is a lack of toys in my carseat.  I can't be held accountable for this behavior.

Ahh Petsmart!  I haven't been here in like almost a month.  I was having serious withdrawal symptoms.

We went down the collar aisle, nothing new; treat asile, nothing new and I'm well stocked now that momma put my Bil-jac's on autoship; then we hit the toy aisle. And I really hit it hard!!!!  I loaded up the shopping cart with the things that looked the most fun.

As we left the toy asile I ran into a wee tiny (about half my size) chocolate Labrador puppy.  We exchanged sniffs, kisses and waggies.  And just when I thought my night couldn't get better I found another puppy.  He was a (not so tiny) Bouvier des Flandres! I literally lost my little puppy mind when I saw his adorable self and gave him wags and kisses!  Momma had to pick me up and have me calm down so we could exchange nice nose sniffs.

No picture of these two greetings.  Sorry!

As we made our way to the front of the store I found a nice little perch to put my self on and momma took my picture.  Look I cost only $14.07

Oh my DOG!!!!  Look its the Bouvier des Flandres puppy!

We got to exchange another quick sniff as his dad was checking out.  I got to say hello to all the employees and get some head pats.  That is the great thing about my Petsmart they have such a friendly staff!

Once I got to the car checked all the bags to make sure we didn't forget any puzzles.

Haul time!  I got 3 different puzzles that looked OH SO FUN!  One is a Puppies'R'Us square puzzle with various types of doors/drawers, one is a Puppies'R'Us round puzzle with green trap doors and the last one is a plush tree trunk with hide-able bugs!

Then I got right to work on freeing the bugs from the tree.

Homeward bound!  Please ignore the envelope fragments in my hair.  I got carried away when I found the mail again.  :)

As far as "testing" my LLW.  Momma said I did well, even if I lost my mind a few times when seeing the puppies...but really who doesn't loose their mind when they see puppies?  Right?  So we are on the right track.  Practice makes progress!!!  I am getting sleepy, I think I will take a quick nap on the way home.  These bugs are excellent poodle pillows.

I Caught a Bird!

I finally caught one of the birds in my yard....on film of course!

Per my research this is a Nuthatch.

After having some bird seed at my feeder he crawled up, down and literally all the way around the tree in my front yard.  It was so much fun to watch.

Don't be shy and come again sweet birdie!

AKC Registered Red Poodle - KD's Twinkle Twinkle Lucy Star

I got something fantastic in the mail!

Its a LARGE envelope from the AKC.

I tore into it right away.

Momma told me that the photo I found recently, with the photographs and paperwork, was my AKC PAL application.  To read that post click here.  She registered me with PAL so we can enter AKC activities and earn titles.  I have been looking on the AKC website and there are so many activities in which registered dogs can pawticipate.  The ones that peaked my interest were the Trick Dog, CGC (CGCA & CGCU), Rally obedience, and Nosework.  My official registered name is KD's Twinkle Twinkle Lucy Star.

#ChewyInfluencer - Review of Rachael Ray Nutrish Grain Free Burger Bites

Oh boy!  It is time for another #ChewyInfluencer Review.  This time around I chose Rachael Ray Nutrish Grain Free Burger Bites, Beef Burger with Bison Dog Treats.  Yes you read that correctly, BISON dog treats!  Gourmet!

The description states these treats are made with real farm raised beef and its the #1 ingredient.   YES!!!  There are no artificial flavors, meat by products or grains and are cooked right here in the USA!  Now it just so happens Doggy Nanny had planned a night of grilled burgers and card playing the day after my chewy box arrived.  Great minds think alike huh!

After the hoomans got their plates momma broke out the burger treats.

They claim " Inspired by real recipes from Rachael's kitchen for the ultimate tail-waggin' experience".  Yep my tail sure did wag at the first wiff of these pawsome treats!!!  I'll just take this one here.

Gracie giving them a good sniff before...

...her first big bite.

I ran off with mine to eat in private.

So soft and chewy!!!!

All gone...Oops, missed a crumb.

Now my belly is full of burgers I'm ready to play PROGRESSIVE RUMMY!

Team Gracie won the first round scoring 0 to 435.  Team Lucy won rounds 2 and 3! We all had a great night.  Family, furiends, and burgers!!!

Did you know Chewy.com carries the full line of slobber-inducing dry kibble, wet food and treats offered by Rachel Ray?  So, if you find the one that just makes you tail wag you can set it on autoship so you never have to fear running out.  Plus you get a box with every order and really you can't beat that kind of deal.  Boxes are the BOMB!!!!

(Flash back to my first unboxing, boy my ears were short!)

So for my final thoughts.  I give these treats an A+.  Neither Gracie nor I hesitated in taking these treats. We even went back for seconds....and thirds!    They are the perfect size for us and taste amazing!

Thank you Chewy.com

Lucy
