Wif Fall Comes Dry Skin - Eek! #ChewyInfluencer - GNC Pets Medicated Dog Conditioner (Lavender) Review

Welcome frens Poppy here!  This is going to be a multi-pup-date post so grab a treat and settle in.  The past couple of weeks I have had some dry skin on my neck/back.  Momma's kept lotion on me but it hasn't seem help.  So when I got the opportunity to try out the GNC Pets Medicated Dog Conditioner (Lavender) I was intrigued.

I got right to researching the product to see if it might help me. Key Benefits from Chewy.com are as follows.

*This GNC Pets conditioner is specially formulated for dogs 12 weeks of age and older to help combat bacterial and fungal infections.
*This canine conditioner is enriched with vitamins to helps encourage healthy skin and a lustrous coat.
*Chlorhexidine gluconate is an antiseptic skin cleanser that works to fight against bad bacteria.
*Ketoconazole is an anti-fungal medication used to help reduce itching associated with fungal infections.
*Proudly made in the USA with high-quality ingredients and unmatched safety standards for canine companions. (As always a favorite thing to see.  Gotta use safe products on us fur-kids)

First things first, smell test, light hint of lavender. Furry nice!

EEK!  I just realized this means I have to extra baffs!

But its worth it for nice soft skin right.....right.

Hmm...anyhoo here is my before picture.

Once shampoo-ed and rinsed fully momma broke out the conditioner.  It was a nice thick formula.  We applied it liberally across my whole body, head and tail.  We let it set for a few minute.  Rinsed well and then...

...This is not time to play hairdresser momma!

Towel time.  I was still giving momma stink eye for the "up do".

Then I got a widdle sweepy.  The towel was all warm and cuddly.  All I could smell was sweet lavender.  It's furry relaxing!  See ya after whiles crocodiles.

Pup-Date (10-16-18):  Since my baff and conditioner treatment,  my skin is feeling softer and less dried out.  Momma has noticed a decrease in my itchy-ness.  So far so good!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Pup-Date (10-31-18): After 1 month and 2 baffs wif conditioner treatments (2 weeks apart),  My skin continues to feel soft and mommas has noticed a further decrease in my itchy-ness.  We are going to lengthen the time between baffs now but continue to use this each time.
Here is my after photo.
And a Fluffy Plume Tail photo since its so cute.
Final thoughts, I would recommend this to a furiend.  GNC's Lavender Medicated Conditioner smells delightful, and tastes great....I mean is extremely soothing to the skin. After only 1 month and 2 baffs I can see and feel a noticeable difference, as can momma.  This would be a great addition for those who have chronic dry skin, furry or fur-less.   Chewy.com offers a great selection of baff time products to fit your needs and requirements.  Check them out and make baff time fun again!
That Aint A Lizard!
Oh my dog have you ever seen a creature so icky?  Two nights in a row now he has been lerking in the shadows spooking us as we walk by.
This picture was taken from far away so he looks smaller in the pic.  But he is like as big as my baby sister.
DownTown Grooming Arm with Haunch Holders Review
In compliance with the Federal Trade Commission's Guide (FTC) and to avoid any misunderstanding to our readers.
Back Story:
I purchased this grooming arm to assist me while doing in-between maintenance.  Lucy's body and legs turn to jello whenever I try to groom her myself.  Its one of those "unfun" things and she makes it difficult in an attempt to get out of it.  I found myself holding her in awkward postitions keep her standing and still.  Yea, it wasn't working out well for either of us.  I want grooming time to be fun and a quick painless process.  For a poodle grooming is a necessity.
I researched different grooming arms.  I didn't want a full table set up as I have a folding table [Affiliate Link: Amazon.com Lifetime Folding Table].  I read many different reviews and the DownTown Grooming Arm had 633 reviews and a 4.5 rating.  This particular grooming arm also comes with the grooming loop and haunch holders.  Total price was $39.99 and I received free shipping.  [Affiliate Link: Amazon.com DownTown Grooming Arm with Groom Loop / Haunch Holder]
For those interested Haunch holders can be ordered seperately if you already have an arm or table setup. [Affiliate Link: Amazon.com Haunch Holder]
Our package arrived.
Let's get it out.
My Review:
I unboxed it and was impressed.  It was light weight but feels sturdy.
Lucy's inspection.
Checking the clamp out.
It's Lucy approved.
The clamp fit perfectly on my folding table (clamp opens wide enough to attach to either side) and feels secure when tightened down on the tables edge.  Update: As I was testing this out I purchased a Kitchen Nook (bar height) and my grooming arm fits perfectly on it as well.  Clamp opened wide enough to fit on either side, went on securely.  I actually have left the grooming arm up on my nook for quick access as the need arises.
For Lucy I use the Green loop and the yellow is tucked up on the arm to stay out of the way.
The haunch holders (Green and yellow loops) are very well made.  They are plastic coated cording with a padding cover for the belly.  It hooks to the top of the grooming arm via a lobster clip so I can unclip them (without having to adjust the arm each time), lay it down, place her back legs inside and reattach at the top.
 I want to put as little strain on her knees as possible to prevent injury or sprains.  She was diagnosed with Luxating Patellas by the veterinarian. They held her up with no problem and she stood very still for her grooming.
I am by no means a professional groomer, just a pet parent trying to keep my girls looking cleaned up and cute.
Final thoughts, I feel very comfortable using this product with both of my dogs, Lucy (12 lb poodle) and Poppy (6 lb Chinese Crested).  For those pet parents who clip their dogs nails or have dogs that require regular maintenance between grooms this is definitely a great addition to add to your grooming routine.  Its been for us!
Naughty Dotty's Back
Lately I have been doing well not destroying things.  Well my good streak is overs.  Poppy recently had a whole day about her new coat.  Sewing, measuring,  and a photoshoot.  Well the next morning when momma went to do laundry and left us home alone.  So...
I did kind of feel bad.  So when momma got back I just kept myself in the window and poked my head around the blinds and did me best cute face.
I did nibble on one of the strings but momma thinks it can be repaired easily.  That'll teach her.  Here less than a year and Lucy 2 Blinds 0.
Dotty....I mean Lucy
Exploring the Spooky Neighborhood & Teaching Poppy to Drive
Ahh, a crisp cool fall day, nothing says Golf Cart/walk weather quite like...
...low humidity and temps in the 50's.
October is in full swing here in WF.  There are ghosts fluttering about, bushes covered in webs, and pumpkins on every corner.
We found lots of spooky yards.  This one even had crime scene tape up.  Eek, must have been something horrible!
Oh look this house has a trick or treat booth.  Let me go check that out.
Nope...Nope...Nope!  Too scary!
Oh my what have we here.  The pup driving this car must have been chewing and driving.  Not a good combo kids!
I just love the Texas pride here in the outdoor decor.
There are stars,
Texas state flags,
...and Longhorns on garage doors.  #texan #texaspride
We rode by all our favorite puppers houses.
Henlo fren!
Poppy hearing the barks at the house with the chihuahuas.
What is that?
eek!  An angry ghost!
Working on walking and leash manners and shadows.
Back to the golf cart frens.
Poppy was interested in driving so I let her take the wheel. I am  working the pedals cause she is so smol and giving her pointers.  Good job Poppy!
Ooh thats new!  What a fancy plant!
 OOh logs!  Makes me miss my toppled tree in KY.  Momma can we just hook that trailer up to the golf cart and take em back to Doggy Nanny's house.
Smooches,
Lucy and Poppy
