Gracie Goes to P.E.T.S. and the Spa

It's February and that means our Aunt Gracie is due for some vaccine boosters, a heartworm test and heartworm prevention.  I opted to stay wif Doggy Nanny since while healing you must has a puppy at all times.  I set up camp here on the blankie.

Poppy escorted Gracie to....

... P.E.T.S.

Dis place seems spicious!  I hears lotsa barkie dogs.

Is that a husky I hear?  Possibly a Labbiedor too?

We must respond.  *BORK*

Oh we must now leave the car and go inside.  Well this sure took a strange turn.

Once in the waiting room Gracie hid her self under a chair.  Only peering out if someone passed by to sniff their pant leg.

I stayed in mommas lap.  I sniffed an arm or two and it was quite nice that no one tried to pet me.  Made me feel furry comfortable.  I kept an eye on the number board too.  Lookie there #10 Gracie you've been summoned.

They stole her blood and gave her 2 pokies.  10 minutes later she was returned to us and we got the test results and Aunt Gracie was heartworm NEGATIVE!  Fabulous and congrats for passing the test!

Soon after we got called up front to check out and purchase meds.  She got 2 blue boxes enough for a whole year!

*Sniff*

Oh my makes me hungry for heartworm treats!  Is it the 15th yet?

Then we returned to Doggy Nannys house to retrieve Lucy before heading to Petsmart to drop Gracie off to get her hair did.  I took a quick nap on Gracies leggie during the travel time.

After:
At pick up her report card Miss Kim the groomer said she was a sweet girl.  Yep thats our Aunt Gracie.

Whew what a fun day we had wif Aunt Gracie.  We had so much fun that we fell asleep on the ride home.

Of course Lucy was so kind to let me rest my weary head on her soft fluffy self.  Thank you Lucy!

Once home we rallied enough to have din din then this happened....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Recalls, Lot Numbers and Staying Safe

We recently heard about the Science Diet recall.  For all the affected puppers and their families we send lots of love from Texas!  The only food we are on from Hills Science diet is Dry kibble.  As of right now dry foods are not in the recall but we are keeping a check on Hills website for updates.
The way to tell if your pets food was in the recall was from the lot numbers listed on the cans.  Now that is a great way to check but if you had already discarded them you were left not knowing and that would be just terrible.  As we paw this post our dry food is sitting in our Vittle Vault and the bag long gone. This got us to thinking.  All of our pawrents have cell phones, just have them snap a quick photo of the lot number before tossing the packaging.  That way you have the info in the event of a recall.

Going forward though we are going to keep a digital copy of the lot numbers in her phone of our foods, wet and dry.  You never know when a recall will come up.

We should also mention that if your pup is on a prescription (from a vet), a supplement (GMC/Vitamin/etc from a store other than a vet), a heartworm preventative, or a flea/tick preventative keep these lot  numbers too. Digital or hard copy.  We keep the original packaging in our doggie books since they are "medical" things.  Mommas always been a file keeper of medical things for us pups and her previous pups.

Stay Safe Puppers!

A Week Long Chronicle of Sad Puppies

We are now accustomed to the abandonment in the mornings.  We know that its just a snack and nap until Doggy Nanny comes to rescue us from the apartment.   However with Day Care closed and momma coming home at lunch a double abandonment is just too much to endure!  Here are our best please don't leave again momma faces:
