Oh my dog! I had a fun night last night wif momma doing recall training. When I am at home, at the store, and at the vet I listen very well to momma. Everytime we go outside or are out in public we work on it. When I am at Aunt Gracies however, my ears turn off and well momma says thats no good. So we went up to Aunt Gracies while she was inside and started doing recall with distraction training. It took a long time for me to quit looking for Gracie but when I did and listened to momma I got a click and a treat! OH boy! We went back and forth in her drive way doing come and then getting the ok to go back and see if Aunt Gracie was in the yard. After that we went down the road to the field (where I do my zoomies) and did stay/recall training. The distraction here was all the wonderful smells and I'll admit it was difficult but I did it! Even when the big Labrador down the road was barking I stayed focused.
When we got home I posted about training on my facie-booky page then took a nap while momma did the dishes. Momma got this candid shot of me stretched out on my kitchen bed!
I slept like a baby last night and woke up feeling refreshed and ready for a day of bitey face with Aunt Gracie!
Puppy Growls,
Lucy
MOLMOL Lucy sounds like you have 'selective hearing' but you are trainable. About the only think I hear and respond to is the crinkle of my kibble bag or the pop top of my canned food. I am not trainable
ReplyDeleteHugs madi your bfff

ReplyDeleteYour Pals,

Murphy is right. Recall is one of the most important things you will ever learn, Lucy. Great job!
