Wondering Wednesday: Depo-Sits

Momma took me to the bank today.  She sent many green papers up in a box and received back just a single white paper.

Momma calls it a Depo-Sit, but it seems suspicious to me. Do the bank peoples sit on the green papers?

Someone Made a Mess!

Momma Momma Momma, come look!  Seems while you and I were napping Mr. Lizard made a mess.

Mr Lizard what am I going to do with you?  Running off, getting caught in the rain and now shredding that tasty (I mean totally not a chew toy) toilet paper.

AKC Star Puppy Test

5-6-17 The day started out with a quick trip to the vet clinic to get my spay stitches removed.  Whew glad that is all done!!!  Then we went to Petsmart to take the AKC Star Puppy Test.

We did a little bit of shopping, picked up some day care treats then headed to the training area.  Momma and Nanette talked about how training was going, the class that was starting up in June (momma as a reminder I still wanna do that) and then they talked about Therapy Dog Training.  Where you can go visit people in the hospital and cheer them up.  Now boy oh boy that sounds fun! After a lot of talking we got down to business.  We went over the pet owner pledge, then we went over the "owner requirements" (such as carrying clean up bags, having an excercise plan, enrolling/completing a 6 week puppy class, owner has obtained a form of id, and maintains puppys health) , then it was my turn to show off my training (allows petting by a another person, allows grooming, walks on leash, walks by other people, sits/down on command, comes when called , reaction to distraction, and stays on leash while owner walks away)  Now I did let out a single yip when momma left me the second time for the come when called command but I was just so excited to do the command.  We have been practicing it a lot at home.  During the test Nanette marked each one as a "Pass" and officially named me a AKC Star Puppy.  Momma was so proud!

As she was filling out paperwork for the AKC I did some tricks with Nanette.  And guess what, she did all my commands in GERMAN!  I followed each one with the hand signals!  Once the paperwork was all done it was picture time!

When we got to the car momma surprised me with some new treats (PB nanas are amazing!) and a new squeeky cow toy!  As soon as momma sends in the paperwork I will get my AKC certificate and a Star medal.  We shall get on that furry quick momma!

It was an exhausing day and I fell asleep on the way home.  Being so obedient is hard work, but well worth the effort for the yummy treats!!!!

Life with Lucy Review: Clik-R by Petsafe

5-1-17 Today's Life with Lucy Review will be on the Clik-R by Petsafe.

When I first started puppy school our trainer gave us a blue box clicker.  It makes a nice loud sharp noise which I personally liked.

However momma had trouble pressing the clicker button especially when holding it in one hand with treats and using her other hand for signals.  During another training session, Nanette showed our pawrents her favorite clicker.  Momma was very impressed and went right out and picked one up for us to use during training.
My favorite things about this clicker are ease of use for momma, a nice distinct sound, and the raised button!

Ease of use - This clicker has a spot to attach a wrist coil or tether (coil/tether not included).  This allows momma to keep it handy but not have to hold it all the time.  Also under ease of use it features a finger loop so while in use mommas hand is free to hold more treats.

Sound - The sound is distinct, crisp and clear.  More importantly the sound is soft.  So if you are out at an event/training center its not going to bother people but your pet will still be able to hear it and know the meaning.

Raised push button - This is the most important feature according to momma.  This makes hitting the button super easy so she can pair the click better with my training moves.

I transitioned from the old box style clicker to the Petsafe Clik-R with no issues.  Momma just reloaded it the same way we learned in class with the first clicker.  Now all momma has to do is get it out of my puppy bag and I know its training time!

I highly recommend this clicker for any puppy or doggie that loves training.  Momma purchased ours at the local Petsense store for $3.99.

Flashback Friday - Bacon and Tantrums

4-15-17 Flashback Friday - Back on Easter weekend after the egg hunt we stopped at Back Yard Burgers for lunch.  While we were waiting on mommas order the nice people gave me some BACON!  OH my dog it was the best food I have ever eaten.  After my snack I didn't want to go back into my carseat and kept crawling out and squirming my way back to momma.  Here I am with my saddest face.  It didn't work.  Once we were done in the drive thru she put the carseat clip back on me and there is no getting out of that!

Thankful Thursday: Outdoor Fun

5-4-17  Today I am thankful.  Mommy posted this photo on facey-bookie and said she had no idea what this face was...Momma this is my thankful face!

I am thankful for the golf cart and our evening rides.  The wind in my fur feels simply amazing!

I am also thankful for the creatures that visit my yard. They are the spice of life!

He almost got away before I could snap a picture...Silly Froggie!  I'm a blogger, I need to take your picture.

April's Showers

(4-30-17) It has been a rainy weekend.  My topknot and bracelets were flattened every time I set paw outside!

So as soon as I did my business I made mad dashes for the house.  Sorry Jackson not time to play must get inside and re-floof  I cant be seen like this.

Late Sunday the rains finally departed the area and we decided to take golf cart out for a ride through the neighborhood and look what we found.

It's a TURTLE!  She was just passing through the area I stopped for a quick sniff then hopped back on the golf cart to continue our ride.
