February Heartworm Tests

Yes its April...Yes this was from February....Our mommas slacking.  Anyhoo.  Momma took half a day off work so we all could get heartworm tests.  Bag packed and treat pouch stocked.

I protested as I didn't want a pokie.

But momma used logic and reasoning....fine.

SQUIRREL!

Lucy was all smiles per usual.

We have arrived and got checked in.

There was no fooling Lucy's nose...she knew who had the treats.  She was all prim and proper sitting smiling.

Momma here...I have to take over to brag on my poppy girl for a second.  This is the first time we have been to the vet in a while or in public (not doing curbside or at familys house) and my girl did FABULOUS.  I had treats ready when dogs came in, i asked for her to look at me instead of them, and she happily chose to engage with me instead of barking.  My heart was so full that day!!!!!!!!!!  She did bark at one dog a catahoula but the catahoula burst into the lobby with the gusto of a rat on crack so one bark was justified.  lol  A quick treat and "Poppy" she stopped and never looked at him again.  Thinking back to days where I was scared to death to take her in public for fear of her barking or attempting to bite to see her now acting like a proper well mannered dog is truly full circle.  Pippa you ROCK!  Love you girlie.

Anyhoo back to the blog...they called sissy back to have her blood drawn first.  This heartworm test was also the final step in her last drug study.

They kept her in the back a suspicious amount of time.

Then the door opened and it was sissy.  All wiggles and kisses with the tech.

Whatcha mean its my turn.  I already had my turn.....nooooooo!

Yea sissy wasn't happy.  She tried to get out of it but they took her kicking and screaming.  BOL.  At least she didn't bite anyone.

Good Luck Sissy!

Hey there momma can I get a treat?

After tricks and treats I found a comfy spot to relax.

Then I heard the door open...

Its Poppy momma...shes done.

There she is!!!!!

We were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait for the results.

So we worked on our focus behvaviors....tricks....and got lotsa treats.

And the results are.....drum roll please....

Poppy you are heartworm NEGATIVE!

Lucy....you are Heartworm NEGATIVE!  Whoop Whoop!!!

While they refilled our meds look at this cutie.  He is a Cobberdog (fancy word for a labradoodle) but boy was he cute.  All fluffy!

Next stop was to see Miss Curry and get my nails and unmentionables touched up.

Bada bing bada boom and I was done.  Well its kinda hard to see my nails with the grinch feets but just know they are super short and look awesome!

Stay tuned after this I escorted Aunt Gracie to Pets for her heartworm test and yearly vaccines.

Smooches,

LNP
